What i've noticed on some of my workstations is that the 7.5 folders gets piled up with logs (sometimes 10gigs worth) and it just stops working....weird.I am seeing a similar issue with a group of Win XP clients connecting to 10.1.6.6 System Center, I have some remote clients that are on a wide range of virus defs from a few days behind to almost a full year behind yet they are connecting into the SAV server daily.Stop the symantec antivirus services Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Edition.5\ (this is for the version I am using 10.1.5)Delete all the folders and files within it.Restart the servicerun live should update successfully now.Question: Where can you get Virus Defs files (VDB/JDB) that you can drop on a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager's incoming directory?If the database server is out of space or if the table used to store definitions has reached its quota, there will likely be error messages in the Windows Event Logs.
I'm keeping tabs on a remote sever that is running Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Server 10.1.7.7001.
Note: For most customers, it is appropriate to use the default, publicly accessible Symantec Live Update server. If the SEPM does not have internet access, then it is also possible to configure the SEPM to connect to a Live Update Administrator server to download content updates.
If you have set up an internal Live Update server, verify it is configured properly and that this machine can resolve the specified address.
I have one user on the network I am running whose Virus Definition File date will not update.
